Este ano, os fãs de Zeuhl já têm o que pedir ao bom velhinho: trata-se da luxuosa coletânea que o Magma acabou de lançar (Seventh Records), contendo 9 álbuns de estúdio (Kobaia até o recente Köhntarkösz Anteria), cada um acompanhando seu próprio livreto com cerca de 30 páginas. Como bônus, dois discos extras contendo material inédito, inclusive uma demo de Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh só com vocais e bateria.

Bobby Previte

Bobby Previte, baterista sediado em Nova York, se tornou conhecido por ter se mostrado também um grande compositor. Sempre trilhando o caminho do experimentalismo e do free-jazz, aqui vemos o baterista com o grupo Coalition of the Willing (Charlie Hunter, Steven Bernstein, Jamie Saft, Skerik, Stanton Moore, Stew Cutler).

Marco Benevento e convidados / Tonic, 9.2006

Marco Benevento (The Jazz Farmers) convida três bateristas (seu parceiro habitual Joe Russo, Bobby Previte e Mike Dillon) para tocar no Tonic. Sensacional. É uma das tantas experiências que vieram a aparecer depois no álbum triplo "Live at Tonic" (Rodeadope, 2007).

For these shows, I decided I was going to invite some of my closest friends along to play and we'd just let the music go where it wanted. I've always thought that if you think too much about something, there winds up being this hesitation that throws the whole 'universal timing' balance off. With improvised music you want to let the music play you, so that's the approach we took. In this case, music is more like the wind that carries a little balloon through the sky, it's something to succumb to. When you think of an improvised performance as 'something you don't play' you may wind up with a better mind set. That concept paired with the fact that my friends are my biggest musical inspiration, completely allowed the music to come to life. The entire month of November is a brilliant memory.

Ruclub

Achei no jazz e arredores, há algum tempo atrás. Trata-se de um programa de rádio da Universidade de Coimbra, aparentemente apresentado por Paulo Santos, que congrega - como nos ensina a locutora - o "clube de jazz" daquela rádio. Na sua página da web, :ruclub, é possível ouvir a rádio. De quando em quando, aparece disponível para download um programa inteiro. Recomendo com ênfase o download, pois lá só encontramos seleções musicais de alto nível.

O :ruclub 103, por exemplo, é todo dedicado ao The Core, que se revelou uma grata surpresa.
